Presented on the occasion of International Museum Day 2026, ‘Mewar- Connection across Cultures’ is a virtual exhibition by The City Palace Museum, Udaipur inspired by the International Council of Museums’ theme, “Museums Uniting the Divided Worlds.”
The theme recognizes museums as spaces that foster dialogue, understanding, and peaceful coexistence across cultural, social, and geographical boundaries. Reflecting this vision, the exhibition brings together selected artworks from The City Palace Museum’s collection, assembled by the Maharanas of Mewar to encourage curiosity, learning, and appreciation of world cultures. Through objects that embody diverse artistic traditions and histories, the exhibition highlights the museum’s commitment to preserving heritage while creating meaningful connections between communities. Extending beyond physical boundaries, this virtual initiative is an effort to reach audiences across the world, inviting them to engage in a shared conversation on art, memory, identity, and cultural understanding.
